This is a school photo which was taken in 1944 in the presentation convent bagenalstown. What makes this photo unique is that it is the only photograph ever taken of Thomas Gough born 1936 and died 1944. He was the son of Thomas and Margaret and just 2 months after this photo was taken he passed away from dipteria, he was just 7 years old. He is situaited second from the right sitting on a chair.
Also in the photo is Esther Gough's son Eugene Gilsenan he is in the back row fifth from the left. His mother Esther came home from the states for a visit with him and left him with her sister Sarah for a time while she returned home to the states. Hence the reason that he went to school in Bagenalstown.
